Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament -- an outward sign of God’s grace and love for the individual. It is also an act of the community, as the congregation vows to support those baptized as they grow in the Christian faith. Since baptism is a sign of God’s grace, we consider a person's baptism wholly complete no matter where it happened or how old the person was at the time. God’s grace is always enough! Due to this theological perspective, we do not rebaptize people.

To request an infant or child baptism, parents should complete the online baptism request form below. Parents will meet with Rev. Janet Craswell, our Minister of Discipleship, to discuss the meaning of baptism, talk through the service, and explore the ways that National UMC can best support the family in their faith as we live out the baptismal vows together.

To request an adult baptism, please contact Rev. Bryant M. Oskvig.
