With just one listen to Ms. Martin’s silky belted tunes, you’ll lose yourself under her bluesy spell.

A vocalist for over 20 years, Petra had the opportunity of a lifetime to train under the tutelage of the late, great jazz balladeer and educator Ronnie Wells and husband, pianist Ron Elliston.

She’s performed at a wide array of prestigious venues and events, including Mr. Henry’s, The BlackRock Center for the Arts, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival and for her beloved sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

She'll be bringing along some of DC’s jazz favorites:

Wes "Sugar" Biles, Bass
Jeff Neal, Drums
Antonio Parker, Sax

Tickets are available on the night of the show at the door. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

Location: Wesley Campus, National United Methodist Church, 5312 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20015. (Located a few blocks north of Politics and Prose.)

Dinner with Jazz

Enjoy a homecooked dinner with your jazz! Members of our church prepare delicious, fresh hot meals in our Wesley kitchen. We also offer complimentary coffee and tea, along with soda and water for purchase. (No alcohol is allowed.)

Meals: $15

Includes a salad, rice, beverage, and dessert. A la carte items are available.

Menu: Jerk chicken, baked chicken, turkey chili, and vegan chili.

The Blues Brothers featuring Tiya! were here April 27. They did not disappoint. There were sax solos, guitar riffs, a surprise performance from In Process, dancing in the aisles, and Tiya! blessing us with her considerable talent. It was a funky good time.
