GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION (GVP) FACTS

Federal law allows people who are not licensed gun dealers to sell guns at gun shows, online, and in person and does not require those unlicensed dealers to perform background checks. State laws vary. This is the “gun show loophole”. https://www.bradyunited.org
An estimated 200,000 to 500,000 guns are stolen annually from private gun owners, but federal law does not require them to report the loss or theft of a firearm to law enforcement.
