November 23 — George V Johnson Jr, vocalist

Coming in November! Native Washingtonian, jazz vocalist–songwriter, and recording artist, George V Johnson Jr. This seasoned musician can rip into a bebop solo so sizzling and smooth, it makes your senses tingle. Deemed “Next in Line” by Eddie Jefferson, father of the art of jazz vocalese, Johnson continues the legacy of writing lyrics to improvised solos and telling stories through song. He’s bringing along some wonderful DC musicians too! Join us for an evening of compelling and soulful jazz.

Dinner with Jazz

Enjoy a homecooked dinner with your jazz! Members of our church prepare delicious, fresh hot meals in our Wesley kitchen. We also offer complimentary coffee and tea, along with soda and water for purchase. (No alcohol is allowed on the premises.)

Meals: $15

Includes a salad, rice, beverage, and dessert. A la carte items are available.

Menu: Jerk chicken, baked chicken, turkey chili, and vegan chili.

Get Ready for the BIGGEST Jazz@Wesley Christmas Show EVER!

Bobby Felder is back with his annual holiday jazz extravaganza, and this year, he's pulling out ALL the stops. Join us for a night of big bold Christmas cheer with a massive 17-piece band, featuring many of DC's finest jazz musicians.

But that's not all! Our very own Tiya! will be joining the ensemble, adding her soulful vocals to the mix. We're returning to our cozy Fellowship Hall, where you can feast on an expanded menu of sides. We’ll still serve our jerk & baked chicken and vegan & turkey chili entrees.

So mark your calendars and get ready for a night of holiday magic and musical mastery. This is one show you won't want to miss!

Jazz@Wesley’s producer is Tiya Adé, a master vocalist, arranger, and songwriter. Known professionally as Tiya! this DC native’s talent has enabled her to perform with an array of well-known bands and musicians across the globe. The Blues Brothers featuring Tiya! were here April 27. They did not disappoint. There were sax solos, guitar riffs, a surprise performance from In Process, dancing in the aisles, and Tiya! blessing us with her considerable talent. It was a funky good time.
