Jazz@Wesley FAQs

Is there parking in the area? There is ample street parking in the area, either on Connecticut Avenue or on the side streets of Jenifer or Jocelyn.

Can I take public transportation? Yes. The nearest metro stops are either Van Ness or Friendship Heights on the Red Line. It’s a 20-minute walk from either station. The L2 Metro bus line runs on Connecticut Avenue and stops near the church. Exit from the Van Ness Metro station for the L2.

Is Jazz@Wesley accessible? Jazz@Wesley is wheelchair accessible. An elevator is available to the concert hall.

Can I bring my children? This is a family-friendly show. Children are welcome. Crayons and coloring books are available, and a playground outside the church is suitable for 2-5-year-olds.

Can I bring a bottle of wine or other alcohol to the concert? Jazz@Wesley is held in a church, so no alcohol is allowed on the premises (and none is sold during the show).

What is the meal like? The hot meals we serve are fresh and delicious. They includes an entree, rice, salad, a non-alcoholic beverage (bottled water or soda), and an optional dessert. For the entree, you have four options: Jerk chicken, baked chicken, turkey chili, and vegan chili. For the rice, you can choose between white rice or rice and peas. All meals are freshly made by church members in the kitchen of the church.

Are there refreshments available other than a meal? Yes. We offer complimentary coffee and tea (including decaf options), and you can purchase soda, bottled water, and dessert separately.

What is the history of Jazz@Wesley. Jazz@Wesley began in 2010. Church members wanted to invite the neighborhood into the church and highlight its music program. Eventually, a once-a-month schedule emerged, and currently Tiya Adé is the producer of Jazz@Wesley. More about Jazz@Wesley.
